The objective of this study is to identify the opportunities and challenges that leaders have encountered in relation to team leadership in the remote work environment in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. This remote format changed the organization of work, impacting institutions, their management and teams. Leading a team in a face-to-face format differs from leading a team in a home office. The academy within this context, of leadership and work at home office, has studied and created content with much more emphasis in the last two years (2020 and 2021) as a result of the pandemic scenario. To this end, an integrative review was carried out using a time frame of the last three years (2019, 2020 and 2021) considering the year in which the COVID-19 pandemic began. Scopus, Web of science and Springer databases were searched using the words “leadership”; “telecommuting”; “teleworking” and “home office”. Resulting in a total of 151 articles that, after using the exclusion and inclusion categories, resulted in 12 articles aligned with the proposed theme. The main challenges that leaders encountered in this context are related to the development of support mechanisms for employees with regard to the work-life balance of employees. The main opportunity pointed out in the articles is related to better preparation of leaders through training focused on this leadership format.
