Identificação do perfil das adolescentes gestantes do município de Barbacena-MG

Abstract

Teenage pregnancy is considered a major public health problem, due to its high prevalence throughout the country. This study aims to know the profile of pregnant adolescents in the municipality of Barbacena-MG. A descriptive/exploratory study was carried out, with the application of the document analysis technique in a quantitative approach. For data collection, data from the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System (DATASUS) were used, using information from the Information System on Live Births (SINASC) of the municipality of Barbacena between the years 2009 and 2019. The results showed that in the last 10 years, the pregnancy rates among teenage mothers in Barbacena have dropped by 42.15%. Regarding prenatal consultations, 55.56% of pregnant women had seven or more consultations. Hospital delivery had rates of 99.37% in 2018 and 98.32% in 2019. This study concludes that the decrease in the percentage of teenage pregnancies, as well as in the country, is a reality in Barbacena.
